Silverstone - British Grand Prix
The British Grand Prix at Silverstone (July 9/10/11th 2010) was a great success for Heli Air and their management of helicopter operations.
The aim was to exceed customer expectations and this was achieved by :
a) Allowing the general public to experience a helicopter at a reasonable cost. More than 1600 pleasure flights were sold over the two days - Friday and Saturday.
b) Allowing private helicopter pilots to experience the day. There is a large number of private pilots in the UK and they had an opportunity to fly in to Silverstone with a briefing day and practice landings.
c) The commercial operation on Grand Prix Day ran smoothly despite working in a smaller area than in previous years.
A huge thank you goes to all our customers and to all that helped make this a great helicopter event !

The ROBINSON R66 TURBINE is a five-place helicopter that incorporates many of the design features of its reputable predecessor, the R44, including a two-bladed rotor system, T-bar cyclic and an open interior cabin configuration.
The most notable differences are its increased reserve power and altitude performance, fifth seat and large baggage compartment.
HID landing lights, leather seats, and a stereo audio control panel are standard in the R66.

We are proud to announce that as of the 18th January 2010, Heli Air Ltd has been contracted by Silverstone Circuits Ltd to operate the heliport at Silverstone Circuit.
This partnership will provide helicopter charter, flight training and heliport facilities at Silverstone Circuit on a daily basis, as well as for major events such as the 2010 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix. In order to earn this unique status at Silverstone Race Circuit Heli Air were required to meet the highest standards of management abilities and professionalism, including having the capability to provide quality services for the varied events hosted at Silverstone.

"We believe that their experience of running helicopter operations, in conjunction with their company infrastructure will lead to a high level of service which the Silverstone reputation demands."
