Helicopter Instructor Rating or FI (H)

Heli Air can provide the full EASA Helicopter Flight Instructor Rating or FI(H) from it’s best in class training school at Gloucester Airport (Staverton). Our professional and experienced full time instructor will schedule you in for you to join one of our scheduled courses throughout the year.

EASA Helicopter Instructor Rating Course Pre-requisites

  • 220 hours total flying time
100 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC)
Completed the Commercial Pilot Written Exams (may be taken externally)

Helicopter Instructor Rating Course Details

The actual Instructor Rating Course consists of 30 hours flight time, additional daily ground study and a flight instructor test arranged with the CAA.

Once you have passed your FI(H) test and gained your EASA / UK CAA helicopter instructor rating, you will be qualified as a ‘restricted FI(H)’ and able to work as a paid helicopter training instructor under the supervision of a suitable qualified instructor. As soon as you have gained the required instruction experience, this restriction can be removed and you will be able to work as a paid helicopter instructor without supervision from another qualified instructor.

The FI(H) training school is located at our Gloucester Airport base at the following address:

  • Heli Air Limited
  • Gloucester Airport (Staverton)
  • Staverton
  • Cheltenham
  • Gloucestershire
  • GL51 6SR
